Basingstoke library to temporarily close

It's part of a Hampshire library refurbishment programme

Basingstoke Library will temporarily close for six days later this year as part of ongoing improvement works across Hampshire’s libraries.

The closure, from November 28 to December 3, follows similar refurbishments at libraries in Stubbington, Romsey, Havant, and Leigh Park.

Hampshire County Council said the works will allow it to prepare its libraries to serve as community hubs and warm spaces during the winter. Children’s sections will also be improved.

Chineham and Overton libraries will remain open during the closure.
