A twenty eight year old man from Harrow has been arrested in Basingstoke on suspicion of drug and driving offences.

Officers stopped him on Sunday (21st September) on Redbridge Lane, at around 6pm.

Due to "suspicious circumstances at the scene", he was searched.

A Hampshire police spokesperson said, "A search was carried out and officers located suspected class A drugs and drug paraphernalia. All items were seized.

"A drugs wipe was also carried out, which came back as positive for cocaine."

The man has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, driving with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the limit, and driving a car without insurance.

He's in police custody while they investigate.
