Man arrested after antisemitic incident in Slough

A man in his 20s has reported being threatened with antisemitic comments while attempts were made to snatch his phone in Slough.
Following the report, a 48-year-old man from Slough has been arrested on suspicion of racially or religiously aggravated assault and public order offences.
It's said to have happened on Elliman Avenue at 4.36pm on Monday, 20th April.
Detective Inspector Terry Dixon, from the Berkshire East Priority Crime Team, acknowledged the impact that such incidents can have on communities, particularly the Jewish community in this context.
“We know this incident will cause a great deal of concern within our Jewish communities, I would like to reassure you that we are progressing this investigation as a priority," Dixon said.
He encouraged those who witnessed the incident to come forward and reinforced the Thames Valley Police's zero-tolerance policy on hate-related incidents.
“At the current time, we have not received any similar reports in the area. If you do witness or have been the victim of any similar incident, please do report it to police so we can investigate it."
