Former Reading footballer Andy Carroll is set to face trial next year, facing charges related to the alleged breach of a non-molestation order involving his ex-wife.

Carroll, who did not attend the plea hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court, indicated a not guilty plea at a prior hearing.

The charges claim that Carroll repeatedly called his ex-wife, Billi Mucklow, known for her appearances on "The Only Way Is Essex," in March last year.

Judge Christopher Morgan scheduled the trial for 18th January 2027, which is expected to last two days.

Carroll, currently playing for Dagenham & Redbridge in the National League South, previously represented England in nine matches between 2010 and 2012, including scoring at Euro 2012.

His career has included stints with top clubs such as Newcastle United, Liverpool, West Ham, Reading, and West Brom.
