Reading man left 'terrified' after break-in at his home
Victim suffered serious head injuries
Police are appealing for witnesses to an aggravated burglary in Reading on Wednesday (27/1).
At around 2am, the offenders broke into a property on Drayton Road and assaulted the victim, a man in his thirties.
The victim sustained multiple head injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remains at this time.
Officers investigating this incident have arrested a 27-year-old man from Canvey Island in Essex and a 31-year-old from Romford in London on suspicion of aggravated burglary and criminal damage. They have both been released on police bail.
Investigating officer Detective Inspector Beverley Pearse, based at Reading police station, said:
“The victim was understandably left terrified after this incident.
“We are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to please come forward.
“Also, if you have any CCTV footage in the area or any dash-cam footage if you were driving in the area around the time, or saw any suspicious vehicles we’d also ask that you check any recordings in case it has captured something that could assist our investigation.
