A34 slip road report out soon

Reading West and Mid Berkshire MP Olivia Bailey has met with roads minister Simon Lightwood to discuss the  dangerous A34 slip roads at East Ilsley and Beedon.

During the meeting, the minister acknowledged concerns about the safety of the slip roads and committed to working with Ms Bailey following the outcome of the study.

Hundreds of constituents responded to her survey highlighting safety concerns.

Residents made it clear that improvements to the A34 slip roads at East Ilsley and Beedon are urgently needed.

“I am grateful to the minister for meeting with me,” said Ms Bailey.

“I welcome the commitment to further engagement once the study reports back and will continue to push for the improvements our community needs.”

Mr Lightwood said: “Safety on our roads is a top priority for this Labour Government and I recognise the concerns Olivia has raised regarding the A34 slip roads at East Ilsley and Beedon.

“I look forward to continuing to work with Olivia following its outcome.”
