She transferred nearly £200k to herself over nearly seven years
An woman from Aylesbury has been jailed for deceiving an Oxford farmer out of thousands of pounds.
Between 2016 and 2023, 58-year-old Sally Burborough was employed as a bookkeeper at a farm near Great Haseley - where she criminally transferred nearly £200k to herself over nearly seven years.
Burborough pleaded guilty to one count of fraud by abuse of position and was jailed for two years and seven months.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Ross Fleming, from the Economic Crime Unit, said:
“I welcome the sentencing for Sally Burborough for this fraud offence.
“She took advantage of her position as an experienced book keeper, to deceive the farm owner out of thousands of pounds.
”We know that Burborough was a bookkeeper in Oxfordshire for a number of years, and we are keeping an open mind about the potential for other victims.
