A 46-year-old woman has died following an altercation at a property in Luton yesterday morning (Monday). Emergency services were called to Turners Road North at approximately 11.45 am, where the victim was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

A second woman, in her 20s, sustained injuries during the incident, though they are not believed to be life-threatening.

Detectives from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit have launched a murder investigation and are urgently searching for a man seen leaving the scene.

Detective Inspector Adam Bridges said: “This horrendous incident, which is believed to be targeted, has sadly resulted in one woman losing her life and another sustaining serious injuries.

“It is absolutely imperative that we locate the person responsible as soon as possible. We have specialist teams and resources dedicated to this search.

“We have also increased our police presence at the property and in the surrounding area as part of our investigation and to reassure the public.

“We would appeal for anybody with any information about this, or who has seen a man matching this description behaving suspiciously, to contact us urgently using 999 and quoting Operation Wroxham.”
