A 66-year-old woman has been sentenced in Aylesbury to more than 16 years in prison for non-recent child sex offences.

Maryam Jabourri, who has also been known as Beatrice Cameron, has also been given an indefinite restraining order regarding two victims.

She appeared at Aylesbury Crown Court yesterday on 20 May, having previously pleaded guilty to seven counts of indecency with a child, three counts of indecent assault and one count each of inflicting grievous bodily harm, cruelty to a person under 16 years and attempted indecent assault

In the early 1980s, Jabourri assaulted and sexually abused one victim, and sexually abused a second victim, both over a prolonged period of time which resulted in serious long‑term physical and psychological harm to them.

They were children at the time of the offences, that took place in Chesham.

Detective Constable Aimee Stein, from Thames Valley Police's Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said: “I would like to thank the victims for the strength, courage and bravery they have shown throughout this lengthy investigation and trial.

“I understand that reporting and reliving such deeply personal and private experiences can be extremely difficult, and I am incredibly grateful for their courage in coming forward.

“Maryam Jabourri’s conviction is a testament to Thames Valley Police’s commitment to bringing sexual offenders to justice.

“Thames Valley Police takes sexual offences against children extremely seriously.

"Regardless of whether the offence occurred recently or many years ago, we will take action and pursue every opportunity to hold offenders accountable."
