Woman and child seriously injured in Luton crash

A man in his 50s has been arrested

A woman and a young boy are in a serious condition in hospital after they were hit by a car in Luton.

The collision happened at around 11:15am on Tuesday (30 June) on Toddington Road and involved a grey Mini Cooper.

A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving but has been released on bail as enquiries continue.

Sergeant Nicholas Kane from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit has called for any witnesses to come forward.

"We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, or the moments leading up to it, to help us establish the full circumstances/

"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam or doorbell footage that could assist our investigation."
