Firefighters rush to tackle major blaze at Welwyn Garden City

Smoke could be seen from afar as engines rushed to the scene

Firefighters are tackling a large blaze that has broken out in Welwyn Garden City.

Officers from the Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said they were attending a fire taking place on Burrowfield Road at 10:43am on Saturday morning (January 11th).

The service said that the incident was taking place at an electrical sub station in Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire.

Smoke is currently bellowing from the scene, and can be seen from afar as emergency services are being brought to the scene.

No injuries have been reported as the blaze continues. We have heard that the cause of the fire will not be determined until the incident is dealt with.
