A flat in Watford associated with persistent anti-social behaviour and drug-related activity has been closed off following the granting of a Closure Order.

The order was issued at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on 29th October and restricts access to the flat in Solar Court, King Georges Avenue, for three months.

Anyone who enters the premises during this time is subject to arrest.

The Community Safety Unit (CSU) filed the order, supported by the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) and Chime Housing, after receiving numerous complaints regarding the tenant and their visitors.

Sergeant Andrew Blackwood from the CSU explained that officers frequently visited the address due to issues affecting local residents.

He stated, “Residents should not have to tolerate this sort of behaviour and the impact on their lives in this way.”

Sergeant Blackwood expressed hope that the community feels reassured by the response.

He added, “We will use every available tactic to tackle anti-social behaviour and I would urge members of the community to continue to report any behaviour of this nature to the police.”
