A vehicle has been seized by officers from the East Herts Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team in Datchworth.

Following recent reports of a blue Mazda X5 being driven anti-socially in the village, officers attended an address on Bury Street to speak to the suspected driver.

Hertfordshire Police seized his vehicle under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act.

Reports included – Excessive revving of a motor vehicle, at various different times of day and night, creating skid marks in the road, and driving on Bury Lane in excess of 30ph which is the speed limit on the road.

Sergeant Dave Miller, from the East Herts Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Anti-social driving poses a significant risk to road users, residents and the wider community.

“We take reports of this nature seriously and will continue to take positive action where necessary.

“The safety of our communities remains a local policing priority, and we hope this seizure sends a clear message that dangerous and anti-social driving will not be tolerated.”
