Two more charged in connection with Luton murder

Two more people have been charged with offences in relation to the murder of a teenager in Kingsway Park in Luton.

A 17-year-old has appeared in Luton Magistrates’ Court today (Friday) charged with murder, violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon.

A 19-year-old, Eshan Wahid of Kirton Way, Houghton Regis, has been charged with assisting an offender.

He has also appeared in Luton Magistrates’ Court today.

The men were arrested on Wednesday (5 August) and have been remanded in custody and will appear at Luton Crown Court on 11 August.

Officers were called to Kingsway Recreation Ground at around 6.30pm on Friday 24 July to reports of a violent disorder.

17-year-old Bilal Nisar was taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds but was pronounced dead shortly after.

Detective Chief Inspector Nick Gardner said: “Our thoughts remain with Bilal’s family at this time.

“Our teams have been working around the clock to locate and bring the offenders in this case into custody. We are still seeking two further individuals who we believe were involved in the incident and we are asking them, or anyone who knows of their whereabouts, to contact us.”

A further 17-year-old was also arrested on Wednesday (5 July) for assisting an offender and has been bailed.
