Two more men have been charged following an investigation into a firearms discharge in a car park in Luton last month.

No injuries were reported when shots were fired at Lewsey Sports Park and Pool, Pastures Way, at approximately 10pm on 19th December.

Police have arrested and charged Brandon Morris, 24, of Beadlow Road, Luton, and Amaan Ali, 19, of High Mead, Luton.

Both are accused of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

The pair appeared at Luton Magistrates' Court on Thursday 8th January and have been remanded in custody ahead of a hearing on 26th January.

Operation Origins, the investigation into the firearms incident, has already led to the charging of four other men in their 20s.

Two suspects were charged on 30th December with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Two others were charged earlier, on 23rd December, with attempted wounding with intent. All four remain in custody.

Detective Inspector Patrick Allerton, from Boson’s South team, said: “These charges follow a protracted and complex investigation by the force’s Boson team, a dedicated unit set up to tackle gang and gun-related violence. We recognise just how worrying this incident would have been for the community of Lewsey Farm.

“Incidents involving firearms are taken extremely seriously and attract the highest level of the force’s resource and response, ensuring that anyone involved in this type of criminality is identified and brought to justice.”
