Two men who repeatedly targeted a vulnerable Bedford man in a series of burglaries and robberies have each been jailed for 13 years.

Jarrett Johnson, 34, of Victoria Road, Bedford, and Leon Lendor, 40, of no fixed address, began exploiting the victim after initially meeting him to supply him with drugs.

The pair went on to repeatedly steal from the man and break into his Bedford property during incidents between July and August 2025.

During one burglary, the victim was strangled with the strap of a bag, while on another occasion he was repeatedly punched.

Among the items stolen were sentimental family jewellery, watches, AirPods and a tablet.

On 30 July, Johnson approached the victim and tried to steal his bag. He dragged the victim along the floor and hit him with a metal pole.

The victim also told police he had been threatened with weapons including a bike pump and baseball bat.

PC Chloe Lavery, who investigated the case, said Johnson and Lendor had carried out a “sustained pattern of abuse, burglary, robbery, and assault”.

She said the victim had been “dragged across concrete, strangled with a bag strap, punched in the head” and threatened with weapons.

“The incidents have caused the victim deep emotional distress, with the repeated targeting having left him feeling fearful, humiliated, and unable to go out at night,” she added.

Following a trial, Johnson was found guilty of three counts of robbery and one of burglary.

Lendor was convicted of two counts of burglary, two counts of robbery and one count of going equipped.

At Luton Crown Court on Wednesday, 16 September, both men were sentenced to 13 years in prison, with a further five years on licence. They were also given indefinite restraining orders against the victim.

A third man, Daniel Taylor, 34, of De Havilland Avenue, Bedford, was sentenced to 40 months in prison for his role in one of the burglaries. He was also given an indefinite restraining order against the victim.

PC Lavery said: “We will always take any reports of aggravated robbery and burglary seriously and I am pleased that the court has imposed such strong sentences.”
