Detectives investigating a firearms discharge in Luton have made two further arrests.
Police were called at around 10pm on Friday 19 December to the car park of Lewsey Sports Park and Pool in Pastures Way following reports that shots had been fired.
No one was injured during the incident.
Yesterday, officers arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of attempted murder, and he remains in police custody for questioning.
A teenager was also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and possession of a firearm, and also remains in police custody.
Two men, both in their 20s, have already been charged in connection with the incident, and a fifth man arrested last week has since been released on bail with strict conditions as enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Patrick Allerton, from Bedfordshire Police’s Boson guns and gangs unit, said: “Our priority is to protect the public and prevent any further violence, and we are continuing to pursue every line of enquiry to establish exactly what happened, supported by ongoing patrols in the area.
“Any incident involving a firearm is extremely serious, and we are determined to stop the harm and fear that this type of crime causes within our communities.”
