Crash involving three vehicles causes delays on M1 near Redbourn

Emergency services say four people were assessed at the scene

Three vehicles have crashed on the M1 near Redbourn in Hertfordshire

Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service responded to the incident after receiving reports of a road traffic collision at 12.26pm on 9th July.

"Two fire appliances from Hemel Hempstead attended the scene to ensure safety and hand over to National Highways," Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said.

The East of England Ambulance Service also sent one ambulance and one paramedic car for assessment.

"Four patients were assessed at the scene, but none needed ambulance transport," they said.

Traffic halted at 12.45pm, with congestion initially causing queues for five miles.

An alert from the AA stated: "All lanes stopped and queueing traffic for five miles due to crash on M1 Northbound from J8 A414 (Hemel Hempstead) to J9 A5183 (Redbourn)."
