Three charged with kidnap in Bushey

A teenager was found seriously injured after air police helped find the vehicle

Three people have been charged with kidnap after a teenager was assaulted and kidnapped in Bushey last week.

On Thursday (January 16), Hertfordshire Police received a report that a man was being threatened with a knife inside Tesco Express on Harcourt Road, with no injuries reported.

Just a short time later a 17-year-old was reportedly assaulted nearby, on the corner of Moatfield Road and Harcourt Road, before being bundled into a black Range Rover that fled the scene.

Hertfordshire Police requested assistance from the National Police Air Service, which enabled the vehicle to be tracked to Geddes Road in Bushey.

The suspects fled the scene, leaving the teenager seriously injured in the vehicle, and weapons discovered in the Range Rover.

Officers have since charged Kevin Ofori, aged 21, of Eldon Avenue, Borehamwood, Abdoulie Jallow, aged 19, of Grosvenor Road, St Albans and a 16-year-old boy from Portsmouth were charged with kidnap, possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear or violence and possession of an offensive weapon. All three were remanded into custody.

A fresh appeal for witnesses is underway.
