Teenagers arrested following fatal stabbing near Bedford bus station
Two 18-year-olds and a 17-year-old have been arrested after a 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed in Bedford on Wednesday evening.
Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Thomas Taylor, which took place near Bedford bus station on Wednesday.
Thomas was attacked on Greenhill Street at around 5:50 pm. Emergency services attended, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bedfordshire Police confirmed on Friday that two 18-year-olds and a 17-year-old were arrested in connection with the incident. A man in his 60s was also arrested on Thursday on suspicion of assisting an offender. He has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Detective Inspector Richard Stott, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is an absolutely shocking incident in which a teenage boy has lost his life as a result of knife crime and serious youth violence.
“We want to reassure the wider community that officers are pursuing all lines of inquiry as well as carrying out increased patrols in the surrounding area.”
Police investigations into the incident remain ongoing. Officers have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
