Man jailed for manslaughter after fatal Bedford bus station stabbing

A man has been sentenced to more than eight years in prison after admitting to manslaughter during his retrial for the fatal stabbing of Thomas Taylor outside Bedford bus station.
20-year-old Ahmed Adam, along with others, was involved in the brutal attack on Thomas, 17, on 8th January 2025, triggered by retaliation to an earlier assault on Riaz Miah.
The confrontation unfolded on Greenhill Street when Adam identified Thomas and initiated the attack, leading to Bennett Ndenkeh wielding a knife.
Ndenkeh was convicted of murder last year, while Miah was convicted of manslaughter.
Adam's plea came during his February retrial, leading to a sentence of six years and eight months for manslaughter at Luton Crown Court.
Adam also received a sentence of one year and eight months for conspiracy to rob in connection with an incident while on court bail.
Victim impact statements highlighted the grief and loss felt by Thomas’s family, who have honoured him with a community hub.
Detective Chief Inspector Richard Stott emphasised the case as a poignant reminder of knife crime impacts and urged young people to reconsider the outcomes of carrying weapons.
