Detectives investigating reports of a suspicious substance at a property in High Wycombe say there is no wider risk to the public.

Thames Valley Police were called to Desborough Avenue yesterday morning, following calls regarding a suspicious substance.

They were joined by the fire and rescue and ambulance service, as investigations took place.

It has since been confirmed there is no wider risk to the public, with road closures now lifted.

Officers remain on the scene as investigations continue, available to speak with locals.

Residents nearby were asked to keep their windows and doors closed yesterday during initial investigations.

Superintendent Euan Livingstone from the Buckinghamshire Local Command Unit has thanked local residents for their patience.
