Stephen Morrisson's killer to serve 28 years minimum

The man who stabbed Stephen Morrisson to death in Epping has been given a life sentence with a minimum term of 28 years.
Ellis Heather, 25, formerly of Taplow, Buckinghamshire, assaulted Morrisson in a car park in 2020.
Despite his injuries, Stephen was able to leave the scene and seek help before he died later in hospital.
Heather was sentenced today (17th July) at the Old Bailey.
Over the course of the six-year investigation, police examined more than 200 hours of CCTV footage and seized and reviewed more than 1,000 exhibits.
Sentencing, His Honour Judge Lickley KC said Heather “stabbed Stephen without any justification… in a moment of extreme violence”.
The judge also said Heather had boasted about his actions in a music video and had mocked Stephen’s family.
In a statement read by Stephen’s mother Lorraine on behalf of her family, she said: “Every day we try to keep his memory alive so that his young son, nieces and nephews never forget him, because memories are all we now have left."
