Park Avenue in Harpenden closed as sinkhole appears

A sinkhole discovered in Park Avenue, Harpenden has led to the closure of part of the road.
Multiple teams are now working together to investigate the cause and ensure the area is safe.
Hertfordshire County Council confirmed that their Hertfordshire Highways team is collaborating with Affinity Water and Thames Water to determine the reason behind the sinkhole.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire County Council said:
"Following reports of a sinkhole in Park Avenue, Harpenden this morning, our Hertfordshire Highways team, Affinity Water and Thames Water are working together to investigate the cause.
"Park Avenue North, is currently closed while the area is made safe."
