Rail passengers warned of changes to Chiltern Line journeys this weekend
Major rail improvement work will be carried out between Northolt Park and Haddenham & Thame Parkway stations.
Rail passengers using the Chiltern Main Line this weekend (12th and 13th of September) are being advised to plan their journeys ahead of time due to changes brought about by rail improvement work.
There will be a closure between Northolt Park and Haddenham & Thame Parkway stations over the weekend as work is carried out. No Chiltern Railway services will run and a replacement bus service will be put in its place. The company warns that some journeys may take longer than usual.
The works will include 1km of track being replaced at High Wycombe, costing £500,000. A road bridge near West Ruislip will also be dismantled as part of the HS2 project and drainage work will be undertaken at Princes Risborough.
Network Rail is advising passengers to check before they travel and allow extra time for their journeys.
Martin Colmey, Route Director for Network Rail's Central route, said: "We're carrying out improvements on the Chiltern Main Line which will help deliver a more reliable railway for passengers and freight customers in the future.
"This includes renewing track, carrying out essential maintenance and supporting the delivery of HS2 infrastructure near West Ruislip. We know these closures will inconvenience some journeys, and I'd like to thank passengers for their patience and understanding while this vital work takes place.
"Please plan ahead and check your journey before travelling by visiting National Rail Enquiries, or by checking directly with Chiltern Railways."
