Police search for prisoner on the run from Buckinghamshire jail

Thames Valley Police is asking for help to track down a missing prisoner.

Anton Newell - who's 36 - left HMP Springhill in Buckinghamshire illegally yesterday (Tuesday 22nd July) and remains at large.

He's originally from Isleworth in Middlesex but has links with the West Midlands and Merseyside and is described as black, 6 foot tall, thin with short brown hair and eyes.

Police say he has several scars including on his wrist, neck and a distinctive C shaped scar on his cheek - he also has a tattoo of funs on his shoulder.

Investigating officers Detective Sergeant Matthew French, said, "We are appealing for the public’s help in tracing Newell.

"We would strongly advice members of the public not to approach him but to call 999 if they see him."
