Preview: Final game of the season for clubs across Bucks, Beds and Herts
MK Dons, Stevenage and Luton Town still have plenty to play for in the final game of the season
The 2025/26 season is coming to an end for football clubs across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, with many still having plenty to play for.
Starting in League Two, MK Dons who were promoted last weekend could go further and clinch the title today if they beat Fleetwood Town away from home.
A draw or a loss might still mean they win the league, as long as The Dons equal Bromley’s result who are at home to Walsall.
In League One, Stevenage currently sit sixth in the league and if The Boro can hold onto their position, it will give them a chance of being promoted to the Championship through the playoffs.
Sitting just one point behind them are Luton Town who are looking for a final push into the playoffs after going unbeaten in their last eleven matches.
The Hatters face a tough test travelling to Bolton who currently sit third in League One and have already booked their place in the playoffs.
In the Championship, Watford Football Club will be hoping to finish the season more positively as they’ve not been able to find victory in their last seven games, most recently being a 5-1 defeat to Middlesborough.
The Hornets are up against Coventry City, which is expected to be a difficult task, as Coventry have already been crowned winners and will be playing in the Premier League next season.
Meanwhile, Wycombe Wanderers sit exactly mid-table in 12th position of League One and will be hoping for a strong finish to the season.
The Chairboys welcome Rotherham United to Adams Park – a side that has already been relegated.
