A woman from Potters Bar has been sentenced to six years in prison after being found with 250 wraps of class A drugs.

Chante Read, 33, of Lye Lane, Bricket Wood, appeared before St Albans Crown Court, where she was sentenced for possession with intent to supply cocaine and heroin.

The arrest took place on Thursday, 5th February, when Potters Bar and Shenley Neighbourhood Policing Team officers discovered Read carrying 250 wraps of the drugs.

Following the arrest, detectives from the West Criminal Investigation Department conducted a thorough investigation, leading to her sentencing last month on Monday, 21st September.

Detective Constable Laura Thomas from West CID expressed concerns over drug-related issues, stating, "Drugs destroy lives and cause misery to communities. I hope this sentence sends a strong message that drug dealing has no place here in Hertsmere."
