Police have arrested a 31-year-old man in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, in connection with a suspected plan to target the Israeli embassy in London.

The arrest is part of an ongoing investigation by counter-terrorism officers following the discovery of suspicious items in Kensington Gardens.

These items included two jars containing a non-hazardous powdered substance and are believed to be linked to an Iran-associated Islamist group’s video, which depicted the embassy as a potential target, with individuals in hazmat suits handling drones.

The arrest took place on Wednesday at a Potters Bar address, where officers are currently conducting searches.

Two other men have been arrested due to the investigation.

A 39-year-old man was taken into custody in Ealing, west London, on 21st April.

He was released without charge.

A 37-year-old man was arrested near Barnstaple, Devon, and has been released on bail until July.

The recent arrest contributes to a string of investigations related to attacks on Jewish sites since March.

There have been 28 arrests, including a case involving a stabbing in Golders Green.
