Police Support Volunteers have been celebrated by Hertfordshire Constabulary during its annual Citizens in Policing Awards.

The ceremony was held at police headquarters in Welwyn Garden City.

The constabulary currently has over 250 PSVs, who work in various different roles across the county.

Between them, they have contributed to over 45,000 volunteering hours over the past year.

Chief Constable Andy Prophet said: “Thank you to all our volunteers for the invaluable work you do to support our teams and our local communities. We are extremely grateful to have you as part of our Team Herts family.

“A big congratulations to all our nominees and winners. This was a great opportunity to get everyone together to celebrate and reflect on the fantastic work our volunteers have been doing to support the constabulary over the past 12 months. I look forward to seeing what the next year brings.”

The evening started with an overview of some of the great work the volunteers have undertaken, before long service award presentations were made to those who had served two, five and 10 years respectively.

The category winners were then announced and were presented with their awards by Chief Constable Andy Prophet and Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Jonathan Ash-Edwards.
