A Thames Valley Police officer is facing a charge of causing death by careless driving following a fatal traffic accident in Buckinghamshire.

PC Philip Duthie, aged 41, is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 27th April.

The charge stems from a road traffic collision that occurred in Aylesbury on 16th April 2021.

During the incident, PC Duthie was responding to a report of a serious event when his vehicle struck Kimberley Cameron, aged 27, as she crossed the road.

Miss Cameron sadly died at the scene.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) decided to reinvestigate the matter in 2023 after new evidence emerged during the inquest into her death.

The reinvestigation concluded in December 2025, with a file of evidence forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service.

The CPS has authorised PC Duthie's charge of causing death by careless driving contrary to section 2B of the Road Traffic Act 1988.
