Police investigate shots fired at Luton car park

No injuries have been reported but officers are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage

Bedfordshire Police are appealing for information after shots were reportedly fired at the car park of Lewsey Sports Park and Pool in Luton late on Friday night, 19th December.

Officers were called to the scene, located on Pastures Way, at around 10pm after reports of gunfire in the area.

Police confirmed that no victims have been identified and no injuries have been reported.

Appeal for witnesses and further evidence

Detectives have cordoned off part of the car park and recovered CCTV footage as part of their investigation. Officers are also conducting extra patrols in the area to provide reassurance to the local community.

Detective Inspector Jon Wheeler said the force is eager to identify those involved.

“This was a very concerning incident, and we are keen to speak to anyone who can help identify those involved,” DI Wheeler said.

“We're particularly keen to hear from anyone who was driving near the area and has dashcam footage of the incident or activity before or after the shots were fired.”

Witnesses or anyone with footage or information are urged to call police on 101, quoting incident number 429 of 19th December.
