Police investigating a stabbing in Luton yesterday afternoon (Thursday) are appealing for information.

Officers were called to Waller Avenue shortly after 4.10pm, after reports that a man had been chased from a car by four men and stabbed multiple times.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical, but stable condition.

An 18-year man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in police custody for questioning.

Detective Inspector Scott Fowler from Bedfordshire Police said: “This attack has left a man fighting for his life and we are appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or has any CCTV or dashcam footage, to get in touch immediately.

“We are following several lines of enquiry and it is extremely important that we identify and trace the remaining people involved, so any information will help us establish the circumstances which led to this horrific incident.”

Anyone who has information is asked to contact police online or call 101 quoting Operation Drystone or incident 286 of 19 March.
