Police appeal after series of indecent exposures near Bedford school
Officers believe more incidents may have gone unreported and are urging witnesses to come forward
Bedfordshire Police are appealing for witnesses following a number of indecent exposure incidents in the Wentworth Drive area of Bedford.
Most of the reports have been made around Mark Rutherford School, particularly near the underpass, although some incidents have taken place elsewhere nearby. The first reports were received at the end of September, with the most recent on 11 November. Officers believe more incidents may have occurred but have gone unreported.
Extra patrols have been taking place as police work to identify the man involved.
Detective Sergeant Zoe Keepin urged anyone with information or who has seen anything suspicious to come forward, saying: “This isn’t just inappropriate, it’s illegal. It can be deeply distressing and is often used to intimidate, harass or groom. Reporting helps us identify individuals who may pose a risk to others.”
