The campaign, started on Change.org by local resident Jennifer Barton, calls on local representatives and the community to help keep the club open.
The petition has now almost received over 400 signatures from local residents who want to keep the site open.
The venue has been a hub for events such as weddings, parties, bingo, and live tribute acts.
Barton said the club has played an important role in South Oxhey for generations and warned that its closure would be a “loss for the community” and could open the way for redevelopment.
The William Morris Labour Club is a vital safe space, offering an inclusive environment free from the pressures and dangers found in other social settings.
For many, it is a sanctuary that offers friendship, support, and a sense of belonging that cannot be easily replaced.
Supporters of the petition argue that the club provides a social space for residents and a source of local pride, emphasizing that losing it would remove a unique community venue.
The petition is ongoing, and members of the public are encouraged to add their support to help influence the outcome and preserve the historic club.
