Nature enthusiasts and bird watchers can once again observe the peregrine falcons at St Albans Cathedral for the 2026 nesting season.

The cathedral, in Hertfordshire, has been home to a pair of peregrine falcons for several years.

The live webcam aims to provide an insight into their daily activities and highlight the significance of urban wildlife conservation.

Tragedy struck the falcons in April 2025 when a clutch of eggs was destroyed. However, an unusual second clutch was laid and safely hatched three healthy chicks in the summer.

An investigation by Hertfordshire Constabulary into the incident remains ongoing.

In an update provided on 25 February 2026, Hertfordshire Constabulary said:

"The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) have requested some further information from Hertfordshire Constabulary. Officers from the Rural Operational Support Team (ROST) are currently in the process of gathering this information and will respond accordingly to the CPS."
