Pedestrian dies in collision involving two vehicles on A1(M) near Stevenage
Police are appealing for information
A man in his 30s was pronounced dead following a collision on the A1(M) near Stevenage in the early hours of Saturday, 9th May.
Emergency services responded to reports of the incident at around 1.20am, involving a pedestrian and two vehicles near the junction 8 slip road.
Upon arrival, officers and ambulance personnel confirmed the pedestrian had sadly died at the scene.
Initial investigations suggest the man may have been exiting a stationary silver Honda Civic on the grass verge close to the slip road when the collision occurred.
Both drivers involved remained at the scene and are cooperating with police inquiries.
Detective Sergeant Ben Heath, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Firstly, my thoughts go out to the man’s loved ones at this sad time.
“We are appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage as we work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision. At this stage, we believe the man may have been exiting a broken-down silver Honda Civic that was stationary on the grass verge near to the slip road.
