Watford have dismissed head coach Paulo Pezzolano after just five months in charge, appointing Javi Gracia as his replacement.

Pezzolano’s tenure lasted only 10 games, making it the shortest reign of any permanent manager in the club’s history.

The 50-year-old Uruguayan struggled to establish consistency during his brief spell, leaving the Hornets 11th in the Championship.

In a move that will spark memories for fans, Watford have turned back to Gracia, who previously guided the club to the FA Cup final in 2019 during his first spell at Vicarage Road.

Gracia’s return marks yet another managerial change for Watford, a club long known for its rapid turnover of coaches.

He is expected to take charge immediately as the Hornets look to reignite their push for promotion.
