28 vehicles checked and one arrested following Op Agrarian in Ware

An operation in Ware led to 28 vehicle stops, and one arrest being made in relation to the supply of Class A and Class B drugs.
Operation Agrarian is designed to target cross border criminality, and vehicle compliance, including ensuring that heavy loads are appropriately secured, and vehicles have no illegal defects.
The operation was carried out by the East Herts Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team, hosted by Ware Recycling Centre on Thursday 13 August.
Previous operations have led to wanted people being apprehended, stolen property being recovered, drugs being seized and vehicles being removed from the road.
Yesterday’s event was led by the East Herts Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), supported by other neighbourhood officers and PCSOs from Ware NPT, the Environment Agency, and His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
Vehicles were stopped on main routes, mainly along the A10 and directed to a checkpoint, to allow checks to be safely carried out.
As a result of the operation:
· One arrest was made in relation to possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs. The man, aged 49, and from Letchworth Garden City, has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
· One vehicle was identified as being involved in a crime, and although the driver was not wanted, details of the vehicle have been taken, and enquiries will be carried out.
