Two more people charged in Northaw arson investigation
The two suspects will appear at St Albans Crown Court in early January.
Detectives investigating an arson case in Northaw have announced two further charges connected to the incident.
The fire occurred at around 1.20am on Monday 13th October 2025 on Coopers Lane Road, where three parked vehicles and the front door of a property were damaged. Fire crews brought the blaze under control, and no injuries were reported.
Abdul Sadiq Miah, 28, of Yarmouth Crescent in London, has been charged with recklessness as to whether life was endangered. Following an appearance at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 27th November, he has been remanded in custody until his next appearance at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday 6th January.
Sabrina Bibi, 31, of Vera Road in Birmingham, has been charged with obstructing the course of public justice. She appeared at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 26th November and has been bailed pending her next appearance at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday 6th January.
A third suspect, Abdul Samim Miah, 32, of Leyton Road in London, was previously charged in October with arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered and possessing an offensive weapon. He remains in custody and will appear at St Albans Crown Court on Monday 2nd February.
Detective Inspector Michael Ball commented: "I’d like to thank the team’s diligence and hard work in securing two further charging decisions.
"The fire was brought under control and thankfully no injuries were reported.
"The case will now progress through the courts."
