Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Sally Spencer, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has sadly died.
“We know this incident will cause concern locally, however we do not believe there is any ongoing risk to the wider community.
“This is a complex investigation that is still in its early stages, and we are actively pursuing a number of enquiries to understand exactly what has happened.
“There will continue to be a visible police presence in the area, and we encourage anyone with concerns to speak with officers at the scene.
“We would also urge people not to share speculation, particularly on social media, as we work to establish the facts surrounding this incident.”
