Motorbike rider seriously hurt in Hemel Hempstead crash as police search for van driver who failed to stop
Officers want to trace the driver of a white transit van
A motorbike rider has been seriously injured in a crash in Hemel Hempstead, and police are trying to trace a van driver who left the scene.
It happened at around 1.30pm on Friday 25th September on Box Lane heading towards London Road.
A red motorbike and a white transit van were involved, and the rider suffered serious injuries.
The driver of the van failed to stop.
Police said a marked police car was travelling in the opposite direction on blue lights at the time, but was not overtaking.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage.
Sergeant Daniel Cook, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: "I would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened and I am particularly keen to trace the driver of the white van."
He said anyone who was driving in the area at the time and has a dash cam fitted should check it in case they recorded any crucial footage.
Anyone with information can also contact police by calling the non-emergency number 101, quoting Op Manitoba, or give information anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
