Milton Keynes murder victim named
18 year-old Fariss Kapaga-Fakeer died on Sunday
Thames Valley Police can now confirm the identity of the victim, in the ongoing murder investigation in Milton Keynes.
The victim has been formally identified as Fariss Kapaga-Fakeer, aged 18.
Officers say their thoughts are with Fariss Kapaga-Fakeer's loved ones at this extremely difficult time. Fariss is a precious son, beloved brother to his two sisters and a friend who is loved by many.
A Home Office post-mortem is due to take place tomorrow (9/7).
Fariss Kapaga-Fakeer's next of kin are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers.
The individual, who was arrested on Sunday (5/7) as part of ongoing inquiries, remains in police custody this time.
Senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Amy Fox of the Major Crime Unit, said: “Our condolences, thoughts and support is with the family of Fariss Kapaga-Fakeer at this unimaginably traumatic time.
“The force’s thorough investigation continues and searches in the Eelbrook Avenue area of Bradwell Common are coming to a close and although officers will leave the scene, our presence within the area will continue.
“I would like to thank the local community for their support and cooperation while our officers and staff have been in the area carrying out vital police work to establish the circumstances of what happened to Fariss.
“I reiterate our appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in and around the Eelbrook Avenue area of Bradwell Common, specifically near to or in the playground, between 3:30pm and 4.30pm on Sunday and witnessed an altercation to contact the force as soon as possible.
