A child in the Monkston area of Milton Keynes has become unwell after consuming sweets believed to contain THC, the psychoactive component of cannabis.

Authorities have not yet established the source of these sweets, but are urging residents to remain vigilant.

Parents and carers are advised to check any leftover Halloween sweets, particularly for products resembling "Medicated Nerds," which are shown in an accompanying image as suspected THC-infused sweets.

Should any of these sweets be found, Thames Valley Police advise against consuming them and suggest keeping them safe and contacting the police.

Police are also appealing for anyone who has consumed similar sweets and experienced adverse effects or who may have information about their origin to get in touch.
