Man stabbed by group on busy Luton street

A man was taken to hospital with stab wounds after an altercation involving three other men in Eighth Avenue, Luton, on Friday evening.

Bedfordshire Police is seeking information following an incident in Luton on Friday, 24 January. Shortly before 6pm, officers were called to reports of a man with serious injuries in Eighth Avenue after an altercation involving three other men.

The injured man was taken to hospital with stab wounds. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The suspects are described as three men, believed to be of Asian heritage.

Detective Constable Joseph Berry, who is leading the investigation, said: “This shocking incident took place at a busy time of day and is simply not acceptable to witness on our streets.

“We are increasing our community presence as a response to this and other incidents in the county.

“We are carrying out several lines of enquiry and would urge anyone who witnessed the attack to contact us via our website or on 101, quoting the reference 40/4489/25.”
