Man seriously assaulted near roundabout on A10
Appeal for witnesses and dash cam footage
An investigation is underway after a man was seriously assaulted on the A10 in East Hertfordshire.
Police say the attack happened at around 7am on Tuesday (7 July) on the Southbound carriageway heading towards Ware near the Puckeridge roundabout.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was parked in a layby in his white BMW X1 to take a phone call when he was approached by two men at his window.
They seriously assaulted him and attempted to take his wallet.
The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Detective Sergeant Abi Mack, who is leading the investigation, is urging anyone with dash cam footage or information regarding the incident to come forward:
“If you believe you were driving at the time of the incident and remember seeing either the incident or the events leading up to it or after it, then please get in touch.
“I understand that this may have caused some concern in the local community, this is being treated as an isolated incident with no wider threat to the public.
“There are reassurance patrols in the area, if you have any concerns, please feel free to speak to officers.”
