Man jailed for 27 years for modern slavery and sexual offences in High Wycombe
Police say Arshad held one of the women in servitude between 2019 and 2024.
A man has been jailed for 27 years for modern slavery and sexual offences in High Wycombe.
47-year-old Muhammad Arshad, of Chairborough Road in High Wycombe was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday (23/05)
Following an eight day trial last year, a jury found Arshad guilty of one count of modern slavery, seven counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault, one count of common assault, three counts of sexual assault and one count of threatening to disclose a private sexual image.
Some of the rape counts included multiple offences of rape.
He was acquitted of two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault and one count of assault.
Detective Constable Emily Sendall, who jointly investigated the offences alongside Detective Constable Emma Wright, said: “These are truly horrendous offences. This case demonstrates that Thames Valley Police will leave no stone unturned in investigating sexual offenders and bringing them to justice.
“Muhammad Arshad was a well-respected man in the community until this offending was uncovered.
“During our investigation, we were able to evidence the years of abuse.
“We found that Arshad subjected two women to a campaign of horrific sexual abuse between January 2018 and July 2024.
“Arshad held one of the women in servitude between 2019 and 2024. During this time, he raped and assaulted this victim.
“I would like to thank the victims for their incredible bravery in coming forward and providing evidence.
