Man jailed for 18 years over drug supply in Chalfont St Peter
A 46-year-old man has been jailed for 18 years for committing drug offences in Buckinghamshire.
Richard Boyles, of Layters Avenue in Chalfont St Peter, was sentenced on Wednesday 20 May at Reading Crown Court.
He was found guilty after a two-week trial of being concerned in the supply of cocaine.
Boyles had also earlier pleaded guilty to three counts of failing to comply with a serious crime prevention order.
He was not allowed to have more than one mobile phone, but an EncroChat device - that had details of his drug supply - was found on him.
The order also banned him from owning or using more than one car, but he was found to have three.
Detective Sergeant Amy Hickman-Holden, investigating, said: “After years of painstaking, highly detailed investigative covert work, we managed to identify the individual behind the EncroChat handle ‘Ivanttheterrible’.
“EncroChat investigations are inherently complex, but through the determination, expertise, and teamwork of our officers, we were able to build a compelling and comprehensive case, ultimately leading to a successful conviction.
“This outcome sends a clear message that anonymity on encrypted platforms is not a guarantee of protection."
