A man was walking his dog when it was reportedly attacked by another dog in Greenwood Park on Tippendell Lane.
He was injured by the large grey dog, described as similar to a Cane Corso/Italian mastiff, as he tried to intervene, causing facial injuries.
The dog’s owner is described as a white woman aged 30-40 years old and approximately 5ft 6ins tall. She was wearing a long coat and hat, and was also accompanied by a young boy.
PC John Cooper, from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing, and we are asking anyone with information to please come forward."
