Man in life-threatening condition after M1 crash

A man is in a life-threatening condition after a collision on the M1 near Milton Keynes.

The collision happened at around 6.30am yesterday (16 May) between junction 14 for Milton Keynes and 15 for Northampton. A grey BYD Seal U car and a black Peugeot 208 were involved.

The Peugeot driver, a man in his forties, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Two men - both 36 - from London have been arrested and are in police custody.

Detective Sergeant Oliver Cahill-Smith, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “I am appealing for anyone who can help our investigation into this collision, which has left a man with life-threatening injuries, to please get in touch.

“Our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones at this extremely difficult time.

“We have made two arrests and the M1 northbound remains closed while we investigate; we apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure.”
